All features
One inventory. Six modules. No second list.
Handing out tools, counting stock, recalling a batch, keeping inspection dates: usually that means four programs and a spreadsheet nobody maintains any more. In Scanwiz it all runs on the same items and the same history.
Scanner · Equipment · Stocktaking · Batches · Maintenance · AI
In short
Scanwiz is warehouse and equipment software that tracks every item and every device by barcode or QR code. Issuing, returning, stocktaking, batches and inspections are not separate programs but operations on the same object – captured with a scan on a phone, a tablet or a scanner you already own. The inventory is created while people work, not while somebody maintains a spreadsheet.
The modules
Six ways to use the same inventory.
Every module has its own page with screenshots, workflows and a demo to try out. You don’t need all six – most people start with one.
Barcode & QR scanner
EAN, Code 128, Data Matrix, QR: the scanner detects the code type itself – with a phone camera, a tablet or the scanner you already own. Offline too.
to the barcode scanner →Equipment & tools
Every device as its own object with an asset number. Hand out, pass on, take back – and see at any time who has what since when.
to equipment management →Stocktaking without paper
Four stocktaking types, a guided count on the phone, tolerances in percent and units. Pausing and counting on tomorrow is part of the plan.
to stocktaking software →Batches & variants
Every delivery with its own number, its own expiry date and its own price. Sizes and versions without six separate master records.
to batch management →Maintenance & inspections
Intervals per device, tasks with reminders, inspection as a checklist on the phone. The logbook writes itself as you tick things off.
to maintenance & inspections →Scanwiz AI Connect
Query stock, assignments and maintenance in plain language – via ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor. Read-only out of the box.
to scanwiz ai connect →The short route
Nobody searches for “batch management”.
People search for yesterday’s trouble. Pick the sentence you hear most often – and see which module puts a stop to it.
The hammer drill is not a stock level of twelve units but an object with an asset number and a QR code. Whoever takes it scans their profile and the device – from then on their name is on it, until they return it or pass it straight to a colleague.
Also relevant: maintenance & inspections – inspection dates sit on the same object.
Counting happens on the phone, not on paper followed by typing it all up. Scanwiz guides you through the area, hides the target quantity if you want and works out the deviation itself. Only what really stands out goes to approval.
The count run can be clicked through in full on the module page.
Every delivery gets its own batch number with an expiry date and its own purchase price. In a recall you filter on the batch and see what is still on the shelf and what has already gone out – to whom, when and in what quantity.
Batches are available from the Growth plan.
The interval sits on the device, not in a calendar somebody has to maintain. Scanwiz creates the task in good time, reminds the person responsible and runs the inspection as a checklist on the phone. The logbook is created as you tick things off.
Several identical devices can be inspected in one pass.
Stock only adds up if booking is faster than skipping it. That is why the scan is the shortest route: capture the code, enter the quantity, done – on a phone, a tablet or with the scanner already sitting on the counter. Without a network it keeps going and syncs later.
The scanner is the foundation – every other module builds on it.
Also included
What nobody searches for – and what counts every day.
These features will get their own pages over time. Until then, the short version: they are there, they run in the background and they save the small steps that otherwise get left undone.
App for iOS & Android
The same data as on the desktop, only in your hand. Keeps capturing when there is no signal in the basement.
Reports & analysis
Stock value, movements, consumption per cost centre. As a view in the browser or as a file to pass on.
Minimum stock & resupply
A lower limit per item and storage location. Fall below it and the item lands on the shopping list.
Labels & QR printing
For everything without a manufacturer code Scanwiz creates its own QR codes – individually or as a sheet for the label printer.
Sites & storage locations
Hall, rack, bin, vehicle – nested as deeply as you like and unlimited in every plan.
Photos & documents
Picture of the device, invoice, data sheet, inspection report: all on the item instead of in a folder next door.
Users, permissions & SSO
Unlimited users, permissions per role. Single Sign-On for teams that need it.
Import, export & API
In via Excel import, out via export – or straight into your system through the REST API.
Not every feature is in every plan – batches and reports from Growth, API and SSO in the Business plan.
Not sure which plan fits your inventory? Pricing depends on the number of items and the range of functions. Users and storage locations are unlimited everywhere.

What people ask before they start.
Do I have to book the modules separately?
No. You book a plan, not a module. The scope depends on the number of items and on how far you want to go – batches and reports are included from the Growth plan, API and Single Sign-On with the Business plan. Users and storage locations are unlimited in every plan.
Can I start with one area and expand later?
That is exactly what most people do. A typical start is the thing that hurts – tool issue or the next stocktake. Because all modules work on the same items, the rest comes later without a migration: you switch it on and use the inventory that is already there.
Do I need extra hardware?
A phone is enough to start. The camera reads EAN, Code 128, Data Matrix and QR without an extra device. Existing handheld scanners can be reused, and for the issue counter there is SelfCheckOut with a screen and a connected scanner. You print labels on a normal printer or a label printer.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. In the basement, the underground car park or out on site the app keeps capturing. As soon as there is a signal again, the bookings are transferred automatically. The same goes for stocktaking – a count run can be paused and resumed later.
How does my existing data get in?
Through an Excel import. Items, quantities, storage locations and values come from your current list, then the objects get labelled. The effort sits in the first few days – after that a scan replaces the line somebody would otherwise have to add.
Where is the data stored?
On servers in the EU, GDPR-compliant. You will find details on this and on data processing in our privacy policy.
